Monday morning...again!

Doggone if it isn't Monday...again. One would hope that after having to suffer through years worth of Monday's we would great a break and at least skip a week or two. And the very idea of it coming after a lovely Easter holiday makes it especially irritating.

Do you realize that every year we have to endure 52 Mondays, give or take? Over the course of my life that means I have struggled through 2,704 Mondays. Of course, sleep takes up even more time than Mondays over the course of the year, but hey! that's the way it goes.

I can definitely approach another Monday as a colossal waste of time, but is it really? Or is it just that I found it difficult to get myself back into the writing groove after a nice few days off. I suppose that in all fairness to Mondays, I cannot blame them for my own lack of productivity or of feeling totally swamped because I didn't check my emails all weekend. I know that's a sin, doggone it, but I think that is what Saturday and Sunday is for!

You can already see my Monday shaping up: fire up the computer, yes, dare to open that email, catch up on correspondence, social network (while managing to avoid pokes, hits and Farmville, Yo-ville and all those other villes), check on my personal bank situation, and so forth. Have I even hit writing yet? Ah, no. Is that what a Monday is for?

Let me know about your Mondays!

Katie's book, "Guardian," can be ordered through 4rvpublishingllc.com, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and your local bookseller.

Mondays I try to comment on as many blogs as I can. This helps set the tone for the week. I want other people visiting my blog and one way to accomplish this is to visit their blogs and leave a comment.

And the comment should be more than, "Nice blog. Thanks for sharing."

This whole week, not just today, is suppose to be set aside to get my house in order/spring cleaning done, tackle the monster sized pile of mending that is taking over part of the bedroom, finish cleaning office/computer room, sort through boxes of junk, etc, etc.

I've never thought about Mondays the way you talked about them in your post, but you do have me wanting to figure up how many Mondays I've lived through in the course of my life so far.

Katie, I hope your Monday turns out to be a fantastic one. I know mine will, because everything I accomplish today, will be that much less I have to accomplish later in the week. : )

I understand your frustration. I'm a member of the CWCC helmed by Suzanne Lieurance and one of the crucial tasks we are encouraged to do each Sunday is develop our marketing plan for the week and submit to the group for accountability. That way when Monday morning rolls around your plan for the week is set and you get moving/writing.

All my Mondays are different. I do answer emails however. Sometimes I write for hours, but most of the time I do household tasks first. You've got to clean up after those wild weekend parties!!!LOL

Today doesn't count because it's a holiday. Thank goodness there's more. I love long weekends!

Interesting post, Katie. On Mondays I usually post on my blogs. and then work on my stories. Today was an exception because my Sunday School class had a brunch, and after eating all that yummy food, writing was not an option. I did manage some editing and catching up on emails. Also cleaned part of the desk.

Hope you had a good Monday.

Yesterday was a holiday? Must be nice - lol. My days, regardless of whether they be Mondays, Tuesdays or Saturdays, seem to be all the same. Work, work, work and very little time to write. I so need to get some states written. I'm working on it though. #5 is written and is in the editing stage on my end; #6 is started; #7 has clues and that's as far as I have gotten so far.

For me, it's work, do the email thing, research for books, and everything at the same time (multitasking some days more than others) or it's just work, work, work and let that be the bulk of my day.

I'm not going to figure up how many Mondays I've lived through. Not worth it. I will keep plugging away and hopefully by the end of it all, I will have accomplished something worthwhile - E :)

Maybe, if we make our weekends crappy enough, we'd all be too happy to return to work on Monday mornings!

Yeah, sounds like a bad idea to me, too...
