Comment about Sunday: Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday, and although I lobbied hard for the Cardinals, and thought for a brief moment that they might "win it all," it simply wasn't meant to be.
Present: Today was a time to stop and take stock on what I've accomplished during the month of January in the promoting and marketing of my first book, "Guardian" (May, 2009, 4RV Publishing). It began with the creation of this blog, and making Monday through Friday posts. It also involved creating a presence on Twitter and Facebook; I got professional pictures made, and sent a few ARCs (pdf version) out to trusted readers.
I also aided a fellow author at her book signing at a local book store. That was fun, and I learned a lot from her. I received back two reviews of my book, and I'm pleased to say they were favorable. I was excited to see how the book hit other authors. Additionally, I did research and created a couple of courses to possibly be taught at a book festival in October.
Somewhere in there, I did some more research for an upcoming book, filed our taxes (yes, I know, most of you haven't even thought of them yet), and worked on creating a business card. And, finally, a friend made a book trailer for me that I'd love for you all to take a look at my YouTube Video and let me know what you think!

My energy levels must be low. I sure haven't accomplished that much. What kind of vitamins are you taking? LOL.

Nice trailer, Katie. Good pacing, not too busy, the music fits the mood. I don't know much about the plot, but that's an intriguing intro. Now I have to get back to my email and trash your blog (just kiddig).

Katie - Like the trailer - very nice. What a busy month you had - I'd like to know what vitamins you're taking, too!

Nice work, Katie. Has your book been reviewed at Midwest Book Review or Reader Views? They are places to consider.
I like the trailer, but I confess my ignorance. Should it include where readers will be able to find the book?
I've found creating a good trailer is not so easy; you've done well.

Enjoyed the book trailer. Just enough info to get me interested. Like Bob, I wondered why there wasn't a link or url for purchasing it or getting on a list to get the publication information. As Dani says, we need to make it as easy as possible.
You outdid yourself this month getting all this done. Sigh...I would love to have gotten more done, but other priorities came first. I knew it was going to be a challenge and indeed it was.

Wow! I get tired just reading about everything you did... :-)
I liked the trailer. Short, mysterious.
Really like you trailer. It's simple and to the point and really leaves one wanting to read your book.
